I don't know about you all, but there is a constant battle raging within myself.
Between the woman who wants to submit to her husband and the woman who wants to tell him to shove it where the sun don't shine.
Between the woman who wants to be gentle and goof around with her children and the woman who thinks they need to toughen up and entertain themselves.
Between the woman who speaks sweetly and the woman who cusses like a sailor.
Between the woman who can spout positivity and the woman who can easily fall into depression.
Between the woman who wants to offer forgiveness and mercy to her enemies and the woman who wants to give them the finger and hope karma comes back to bite them in the rear.
Between the woman who falls to her knees in awe of her God and the woman who sometimes wonders if He has forgotten about her.
Sometimes the former wins the battle, and other times--more times than I'd like to admit--the latter prevails. I know what I should do, but too often I don't do it. And I'm pretty sure I am not alone in this. The apostle Paul even said in Romans "For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do" (7:15). It's a battle between our spirit and our flesh. It's been that way since the beginning!
On this blog, you will see all of the women I mentioned above, because I want to be real. I'm not going to act like I have it all together, I won't sugarcoat what I have to say, and I won't pretend to be someone I'm not. I just want to be real with you, and maybe you will find that my messy, boring, crazy, amazing, confusing, heartbreaking, hilarious, beautiful life looks a little like your own. And if it does (or even if it doesn't, and you're just curious), I hope you'll follow me on this journey!
Because, honestly, don't you think a trip is more fun when you're travelling with people who understand you?
So...whaddya say?
